EBONY FASHION FAIR “The Runway Report” VIP Reception and Luncheon Sunday, May 17, 2009 Sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Delta Phi Omega-Minneapolis

EBONY FASHION FAIR is set to deliver a riveting fashion extravaganza with THE RUNWAY REPORT: What’s Hip. What’s Hot. What’s Now!” hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Delta Phi Omega Chapter-Minneapolis and The Ivy Foundation, Inc.

Fabulous meets fierce in this 51st annual fashion show as the latest trends and unique styles are unveiled. EBONY FASHION FAIR, the world’s largest traveling show, is an elaborate production fully equipped with special effects, hip-hop and R&B music as well as all of the entertainment of a Broadway show. Commanding the catwalk will be 13 alluring models that will work the runway in designs by a host of the best designers in the world, including Christian Lacroix, Sarli, b.michael, Carolina Herrera, Ruben Singer and Jean-Louis Scherrer. The event will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Marriott City Center in Downtown Minneapolis. VIP Reception starts at 1 p.m. and the Luncheon starts at 2 p.m. – general admission tickets are $75.00. VIP tickets are available at $125.00 (includes an exclusive VIP reception and priority seating).

All ticket prices include a luncheon, a one-year subscription to Ebony magazine or JET magazine, a collector’s issue of Ebony Fashion Fair magazine, and a chance to win round trip air-fare for two on American Airlines or American Eagle plus a number of other fabulous door prizes. A portion of the ticket is tax-deductible and proceeds from this event benefit local scholarship and community service programs.

Partnering community organizations join the Delta Phi Omega Chapter and use this platform to present $40,000 to $75,000 in scholarships annually. Other local chapter programs include an annual blood drive and health fair, a mentoring program for youth, and a lobby/information day at the Minnesota State Capitol, an event that encourages the community to actively participate in local government and facilitates conversation between elected officials and the general public. Celebrate History to night at SEVEN! The Official Presidential Inaugural Party

SEVEN in cooperation with IAMMOODY.com and MINNAGE.COM will be holding the Official Presidential Inaugural Party in downtown Minneapolis. SEVEN located on the corners of 7th Street and Hennepin Avenue is the premiere steakhouse, sushi bar and entertainment complex in the Twin Cities.

Doors open at 7pm and SEVEN will replay the Inaugural event starting at 9 p.m.

… A very special message from Ms. Anna Senrick – Hello and Happy New Year to Everyone…

I would be honored if you could join me for a night of celebration to bring in the New Year.  For many of us in the hospitality industry, we found ourselves working through the night of December 31, 2008 and didn’t get the chance to celebrate for ourselves.  We all deserve a night to kick back and let someone else work while we enjoy ourselves.

Join Henry High School Students for their First Annual Community Involvement Day on Friday, February 6th

You are invited to Patrick Henry High School’s First Annual Community Involvement Day on Friday, February 6th 8:00 am – 3:30 pm at Henry High School located at 4320 Newton Ave North in Minneapolis. This very special event is brought to you by AchieveMpls.

AchieveMpls ‘ mission is to galvanize community resources to help all Minneapolis Public School students succeed in school and become productive members of society. The support we offer takes many shapes, including program management, program support, and additional resources offered to the students, teachers and administrators of the Minneapolis Public Schools

Connect with students and join other individuals and agencies who serve the North Side Community as we spend the day deepening our awareness of various issues and topics, celebrating quality education, showcasing student talent, and bringing together our diverse community. We believe that community support enhances the educational experiences of all our students.

Present to a group of students on your work, organization, or area of expertise. The sessions last for 45 minutes–30 minute presentation and 15 minute Q & A–and will range from 15-30 students. You can present multiple times throughout the day or just once!
