Summer Camp at Rayito de Sol with Rayito y Rayita
Offering summer long Spanish Camps for kids around the Twin Cities. Come and join us for a fun and exciting way to learn Spanish and Latin culture. These camps are designed for beginners as well as for children who have studied Spanish through the year. When your child arrives at camp, they will meet Rayito and Rayita their imaginary friends … with them, your child will start a fascinating day to day trip to Latin America, They will begin by making a ’passport’ which will allow them to discover foods, music, Latin dance, arts & crafts, games, sports and, of course, the rich language of Spanish speaking countries plus 30 minutes latin dance everyday as part of our program (salsa, merenge, regeton, cha cha cha).
Children 7 to 9 years old
To ensure the quality of our program, we will have a small group of students and all class supplies will be provided.
Curriculum
You can sign up your child for 1 of 2 program schedules:
One month, or Full summer program (June, July and August)
SUMMER HOURS: 7:00am to 5:30pm
(Structured learning time 9:00am-4:00pm)
**Registration Fee: $50
Weekly Fee: $200
**Registration required for new children (year round students do not need to register)
June 9 to Jun 13: Roots and Shoots / Latin Music = Raíces y música Latina
June 16 to Jun 20: Sense-ational = Sensational
June 23 to Jun 27: Colors / Spain – Colores / España
Jun 30 to July 4: My country, My flag USA / Mi país mi bandera
July 7 to July 11: Dinosaurs/ Latin America food / Dinosaurios y comida latinoamericana
July 14 to July 18: Insects and butterfly / Insectos y mariposas
July 21 to Jul 25: Sand and Weather / PERU / Arena y tiempo - Peru
July 28 to August 1: Night Animals / Ecuador – Animales de la noche - Ecuador
August 4 to August 8: Machines / Mexico – Maquinas / Mexico
August 11 to August 15: Air and wind / Centro America – Aire y viento/ Centro America
August 18 to August 22: The Space / South America – El Espacio – South America
August 25 to August 29: My passport / End of the summer program – Mi pasaporte/ final del programa
**Please bring a bagged cold lunch every day, we will provide morning and afternoon snack and milk.
