2nd Annual Lynx Go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness!

Lynx go Pink!

A message from Ms. Angela Taylor of the Minnesota Lynx:

Hope you all are enjoying this fantastic summer weather (…finally)!  For those of you who have been following the Lynx this summer, we got off to a great start and continue to build on the energy that this special group of young women bring to everything that they do.  Exciting things are happening down here at Target Center.

I’d like to invite you, your family, and your friends down to Target Center to meet the Lynx players while raising money for a cause that is near & dear to many of us…Breast Cancer Awareness.  Join us for our 2nd Annual Lynx Go Pink event when we convert Target Center into a huge pink carnival full of carnival fare, games, and pink goodies!

My family has been affected by this horrendous disease, and I am so proud that through the Minnesota Lynx Foundation, our organization continues to make the commitment to raise money in support of those organizations that provide education & research here in the state of Minnesota.

If you are ready to have a great time while fighting this disease, Lynx Go Pink takes place on Saturday, July 26th from 3:00pm - 5:30pm at Target Center.  Tickets are just $35 for admission to Lynx Go Pink and a ticket to our game against the Los Angeles Sparks.

The Minnesota Lynx WNBA Draft Party “Go Team!”

Today was a great day for the Minnesota LynxWomen’s Basketball team! This afternoon’s event at NBA City in the Target Center was one for the record book. Today was the WNBA Draft party, presented by Adidas, Kia Motors, Innisbrook-Resort and Golf Club and of course the Lynx.

Style, eloquence, class and pride filled the air when the Lynx 1st round draft choice came up - Ms. Candice Wiggins the guard from Stanford was the first round pick for the Lynx with the crowd going wild!

“I helped my son pick her” said Ms. Pat Zierden, Coach Don Zierden’s (Coach “Z’s”) mother, who attended with the coach’s sister Debbie and a their friend Kathy Small. Everyone was all smiles. The Lynx also had the 16th pick in the second round and the 30th pick in the 3rd round. (watch this Blog for updates).

“Our 10th Anniversary Season is going to offer Lynx fans a summer filled with entertainment and the fabulous play of our players on the court as we strive to contend for the playoffs,” said Lynx Vice President of Business Operations Angela Taylor. “We have put together a package of 17 theme nights and several promotions that will make coming to the Target Center this summer a fantastic experience for the fans that have been with us for 10 seasons, as well as the new fans that will experience Lynx basketball for the first time in 2008.”

The Lynx will offer several promotions throughout the summer. Sundays are “Dads and Daughters Nights,” where all daughters receive a half-price ticket when accompanied by their dad. Tuesdays are “Lynx Dollar Dogs Nights.” Wednesdays and Thursdays are “Youth Sports Nights,” where youth (13 and younger) wearing their team jersey get in to that evening’s game for $5 when accompanied by an adult. Fridays are “Ladies Nights,” where all women can receive a $5 discount off any available lower-level seat when buying at the Target Center Box Office. Saturdays are “Friends and Family Nights,” where fans can print a coupon from Lynxbasketball.com and present it at the Target Center Box Office for five lower-level seats for $35.
